Feel Like A Hollywood Insider Without Leaving NJ

Want to see an award-winning film before its public release? How about a Q&A with the filmmakers afterward, and a discussion of their work?

Happily, you don’t have to go to Hollywood to feel like you’re getting a private screening with studio bigwigs.

Starting March 7, the Filmmakers Symposium’s Arthouse Film Festival will run for 10 weeks at the AMC Loews Mountainside and AMC Loews Monmouth Mall. The festival has hosted 1,427 movie premieres with 942 live guest appearances since the Symposium was founded in 1990.

In 2010 the Festival premiered 33 films that earned a total of 20 Oscar nominations, including “The King’s Speech,” “127 Hours,” “Rabbit Hole” and “The Company Men”—well before public release.

Seating is limited, and attendees are advised to enroll early. A subscription is $133 for five weeks, or $235 for 10 weeks, or $205 for a flex ticket where attendees can choose any eight out of 10 nights. Also being offered is a ‘Bring Your Friends’ special: for each friend (new subscriber) who signs up with you, you get $50 off your subscription for 10 weeks (or $25 off for five weeks, or $40 off for flex ticket); or bring four friends and your subscription is free.

Confirmed films and those under consideration for the upcoming festival include:
