Idol drama as contestant is hospitalized

The AMERICAN IDOL wannabe who turned show judge JENNIFER LOPEZ into a sobbing wreck after she had to send him home could be returning to the TV talent contest if a sick singer can't make it to Friday's (25Feb11) competition.
Hopeful Casey Abrams was hospitalized with severe stomach pains after making it to the last 24 of the contest - and it is not known if he'll be well enough to appear during the taping on Friday.
If not, he'll be replaced - and rejected Chris Medina could find himself back on the stage, because he's one of Lopez's favourites.
The actress/singer had a breakdown while taping a show that aired on Wednesday (23Feb11) after she had to send Medina home.
He admits he'd be thrilled to return, but not if it means Abrams has to sit the rest of the contest out: "I would never wish that anybody would be in that position in order for me to get back on the show."
