Oscars : Best film nominees at 83rd Academy Awards

Who’ll get the Golden Man?
The biggest awards night of the year is here. The 83rd Academy Awards (Oscars) will honour the best film talent of the year 2010 in a glitzy gala at Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday night. Watched by more than a billion people worldwide, the show will be hosted by James Franco (star of 127 Hours) and actress Anne Hathaway.

Ten films are vying for the coveted golden man at the Oscars this year. British royal drama The King’s Speech leads the nomination list with 12 nods, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Colin Firth. But it faces tough competition from other equally deserving films.

We bring you a slide show of the the ten nominations in the Best Picture category - The King’s Speech, Inception, 127 Hours, True Grit, Black Swan, The Kids Are All Right, The Fighter, Winter’s Bone, Toy Story 3.

The Social Network

David Fincher’s film The Social Network is about the founding of the popular site Facebook by the Harvard graduate Mark Zuckerberg. The film is laced with subtle ironies as the life of the founder of the social networking site is fraught with strained relationships, broken friendships and lawsuits. With a superb screenplay by Aaron Sorkin, and Fincher’s flawless direction, ‘The Social Network’ stands a very good chance at the Oscars.
