Oscars 2011: At Oscar Wilde Party, Paul Rudd to be feted by the Irish

Tonight, Paul Rudd will become an Irishman. Or at least an honorary one.

He's receiving that recognition at the Oscar Wilde party, a pre-Academy Awards event hosted each year in Los Angeles by the Arlington, Va.-based U.S.-Ireland Alliance. Last year's "Honorary Irishman" J.J. Abrams, is also making an appearance this year, along with expected celebrity attendees Stellan Skarsgaard, Molly Ringwald, Kate Mara and others.

Irish casting agents John and Ros Hubbard and young actress Sarah Bolger also will be honored during tonight's ceremony, emceed by Canadian-Irishman Donal Logue.

I'll be Tweeting all the goings-on from the event, so feel free to follow along at twitter.com/celebritology or right here in this blog post. First question for Rudd: did they decide to dub you an Honorary Irishman because they were so impressed by your reverence for the renowned Irish literary figure Totes McGotes?
